10th International Academic Conference on Teaching, Learning and Education

Several members of the Faculty of Education participated in the 10th International Academic Conference on Teaching, Learning and Education (TLECONF), held in Athens, Greece, from April 17 to 19, 2026. This prestigious event brought together educators, researchers, and innovators in the field of education from around the world with the aim of fostering the development of education through professional dialogue, collaboration, and the sharing of the latest research findings.

The conference addressed a number of current issues in education, including modern teaching methods, educational technology, curriculum development, and innovative learning strategies.

Researchers from our faculty represented our institution with several presentations. Klaudia Pauliková, in her presentation titled “Developing Communicative Competence in Slovak as a State Language: Evidence from Hungarian-Medium Schools in Slovakia,” examined possibilities for developing communicative competence in Slovak as a state language in the context of Hungarian-medium schools. Kinga Horváth and Péter Tóth, in their presentation “Attitudes and Difficulties of Hungarian Students in Slovakia Regarding State Language Learning Based on The Opinions of Language Teacher,” analyzed the attitudes and difficulties of Hungarian students in Slovakia in learning the state language based on teachers’ experiences. Katalin Sýkora Hernády, in her research “Measuring State Language Use beyond School in Minority Education: Development of the SLUICS Scale,” presented the development and validation of a new instrument designed to measure the use of the state language outside the school environment in minority education.

The event served not only as a platform for scientific exchange but also provided valuable opportunities for building international professional networks.

The participation was supported by the Recovery and Resilience Plan of the Slovak Republic – funded by the European Union’s NextGenerationEU programme, within the project Slovenčina ako druhý jazyk v pregraduálnej príprave učiteľov.
