Announcement of the election of the candidate for the position of the dean of the Faculty of Education of J. Selye University
The Academic Senate of the Faculty of Education of J. Selye University (hereinafter referred to as “AS FE JSU“) announces the election of the candidate for the position of the dean of the FE JSU according to Art. 37c, point 7 of the JSU Statute and JSU internal regulation Principles of electing the candidate for the dean of the JSU faculty and accepting the proposal to dismiss the dean of the J. Selye University faculty (Art. 38, point 1, paragraph n) of the JSU Statute).

Process and schedule of election:
Any member of the FE JSU academic community can submit a proposal for a candidate for the dean of the FE JSU.
Candidate proposals for the dean of the FE JSU are submitted non-anonymously and in a written form to the chair of the AS FE JSU, from 31 October 2025 to 23 January, 12:00 p.m. through the JSU registry office in the prescribed form (Proposal sheet see attached). Proposals received before 31 October 2025 and after 23 January, 12:00 p.m. will be disregarded. The candidate for dean has at least a third-level university education and has an active (verbal and written) command of Slovak and Hungarian language, which are the teaching languages of the JSU according to Act no. 465/2003 Coll. on the establishment of the J. Selye University in Komárno.
Until 2 February 2026, the chair of the AS FE JSU ensures a written statement of approval of the proposed candidates indicating their consent with their candidacy for the dean of the FE JSU and with the processing of personal data for the needs of the election of the candidate for the dean of the FE JSU, their structured professional CV, a proposal for the development strategy of the FE JSU and an extract from the criminal record register not older than 3 months.
Until 4 February 2026, the chair of the AS FE JSU publishes the list of candidates for the dean of the FE JSU on the official board of the JSU and on the website of the FE JSU.
A public hearing of applicants is part of the election to fill the position of the dean of the FE JSU. The public hearing of the applicants will be held on 18 February 2026. The public hearing will be held so that members of the FE JSU academic community and representatives of the public have the opportunity to ask questions from the candidates for the position of dean. The public hearing will be broadcast live on the JSU website and the full record of the public hearing will be published on the JSU website no later than 19 February 2026. The record of the public hearing will be published until 20 February 2026.
During the public hearing, the leadership experience and management skills of the applicants, their relationship to higher education, science and technology, and their relationship to the mission and the area of activity of the FE JSU are examined. At the same time, the candidates for the position of the dean will present their proposal for the development strategy of the FE JSU.
The candidate for the position of the dean of the FE JSU is elected by an election assembly convened by the chair of the AS FE JSU no later than 9 February 2026. The election of the candidate for the position of the dean of the FE JSU will take place on 19 February 2026, at the election assembly. The election assembly consists of the Academic Senate of the FE JSU and persons appointed by the rector of the JSU, who make up one quarter of the members of the assembly. Until 5 February 2026, the rector of JSU will appoint the persons who will be members of the election assembly. A member of the election assembly cannot apply for the position of the dean, nor become an elected candidate for the dean of the FE JSU.
The results of the election of the candidate for the dean of the FE JSU are announced by the chair of the AS FE JSU.
The dean of the FE JSU is appointed by the rector for a four-year term on the basis of the results of the election.
