About the Department

The Department of Physical Education and Sports provides Physical Education lessons in all three faculties of the University. The Department of Physical Education educate the basic theoretical knowledge of the Physical Education and healthcare lifestyle for the students of Kindergarten teacher and Elementary school teacher program.

The Department of Physical Education welcomes every student. The students of Faculty of Education, Kindergarten teacher and Elementary school teacher training have a possibility to choice out our caps like skiing, hiking, cycling and swimming.

The departments’ research areas are:

1. basic research in the physical education in the following areas:
2. motor skill coordination
3. Slovakian sport – tourism from the sports science point of view.
4. applied research in the teaching of physical education methodology of the following topics:
   1. the form and content development of the teaching of physical education
   2. the teaching of physical education, the values ​​and research
5. the importance and the development of  bicycle  tourism in Slovakia and Hungary
6. new ways within the physical education (spinning, body styling, Hot-Iron, stretching, meditation exercises, CrossFit)
7. The impact of recreational physical activity on healthy lifestyle.
